Commuting milestone for me.....

I hit a milestone today kind of. Well, it is for me at least. I know some of you out there either do not keep track of your miles or have LOTS of miles under your helmet already, so this is nothing compared to what you all do but I decided in May to keep track of my miles. I thought it would be fun to do and it would be a so called bar set for my riding next year. ...drum roll please...

With the commute today I went over 100 mile of commuting and errands done on my bike. This is a lot for me since last year I commuted by bike not once! My commute to work is only 3.54 miles round trip. The rest of the miles come from newsletter meetings at Michelle's and Monks, MS150 first spoke sign up at Spoke N sport, and breakfast at 334. I plan on doing more commuting by bike next year.

I do need to get some cool weather gear for this fall... any suggestions?

Congrats on the milestone! That's several times you didn't start a car - it's all good. I recommend a long sleeve Under Armour shirt to wear under your usual jerseys and thn just layer. A pair of full finger biking gloves also helps keep the chill off.

Full finger gloves for sure, the best ones I had last year I bought at Menards for 4 bucks, XX large, with a nylon outer and cheap insulation but I wore some thinsulate liners with them.
Double vote on the Under Armour. I will let you know when Shopko puts them on sale, half price a couple of times last year, so I am stocked up now! Definately a balaclava, and if you want to be hard core like me, a ski helmet with vents, and goggles. Thin layer waterproof/breathable sock liners and wool socks, hiking boots, under armor long johns, Roubaix bib tights, 1,2, or 3 layers on top and you are good to minus 20 wind chills. No kidding.
